About

About Curated AI

The greatest AI-assisted projects, curated by humans.

Why

AI is democratising technical and creative work: illustration, editing, graphic design, animation, web design, music, code. That is good news. The bad news is that without knowledge everything comes out with the same artificial look, and the internet is filling with it. This catalogue collects the best examples of the opposite: projects where AI did real work and a person made it good.

What gets in

A project needs to be useful, to show an innovative way of using AI, and to have been curated and reviewed by a human rather than generated and published. We care about the result and about the process. An entry that cannot say where the human came in does not get in.

What stays out

Anything with the default AI aesthetic and nothing else. Deepfakes made without consent. Work that hides how it was made. Projects whose only merit is that a machine produced them.

Three degrees

Each entry states how much the machine did. AI-assisted: the work would exist without it. Co-created: human and model in dialogue. Human-directed: the model produced most of the material and a person chose, cut and corrected it. None is better than the others; honesty is the point.

References

The anti-slop criterion owes a debt to the communities that document bad AI work so that it can be recognised: among them the Slop Awwwards and slop.video. We point at the opposite of what they collect.

How to suggest

Send a link, who made it, which tools were used and where the human came in. Every suggestion is read by a person. Entries marked as seeds were written from public sources and are being reviewed.
