Where the human came in
Li designed the blobs, the interaction and the harmony rules; the singers were credited and recorded for the purpose; the model only produces what it learned opera sounds like.
Why it is not slop
Joyful, instant and honest about what you hear: not the singers, but a machine's idea of them. Still the most played machine-learning toy on the web.
