Semantle
A daily word game where every guess gets a score for how close its meaning is to the secret word, computed by a word-embedding model.
Where the human came in
Turner built it in a few hours in the wake of Wordle, chose the vocabulary and the scoring, and tuned the difficulty by hand; within months about two hundred thousand people played daily.
Why it is not slop
A game that could only exist with a language model, and that uses it for one thing: a number. Nothing generated, nothing to look at, just meaning as a mechanic.
